Problem:

Do you replace or repair a motor with severe scoring in the first cylinder?

Solution:

Due to the phenomenon known as the "Porsche" tax, the decision was made to replace the motor with a non Porsche motor. The resulting solution has unintended consequences that shape and change the vehicle in such a way that could leave one questioning if it is appropriate to call it a 944 any more.
